Just Let it Go

Purpose 20/20

The pain of staying can be greater than the pain of leaving!! What a bittersweet statement of truth and healing. Holding onto the wrong things can only harm you.

I often use the analogy of a car. As long as the car is parked, you can maintain your grip on the door handle. However, the moment that car is put into motion you quickly lose control of it and your ability to hold on weakens.

Your refusal to let go causes injuries that would not happen had you just let go.

Some of you are in relationships and you are being dragged around. You are sustaining unnecessary injuries because you refuse to let go.

The truth of the matter is that letting go can be painful but the sooner you let go the fewer injuries you sustain therefore reducing your time of healing.

Often the result of letting go is rejection. When you hold on to people, relationships and things for too long, it’s normally a result of a past rejection. Maybe you were abandoned by a parent, a friend betrayed you or a spouse walked out on you.

Whatever the matter, hold on to this truth, rejection is for your protection. When you can learn to release that pain of rejection, then you can become okay with letting go of that pain, person or prop in your life.
